Dance Rehearsal

The photo above has auto levels run on it. It looks so different from the other ones that don't.

Julia's looking at herself in the dressing room mirror.

The photo above is the same as the first one, but does not have auto levels run on it.

My daughter had her dance rehearsal this morning. We took some photos before the rehearsal, down in the dressing room and then afterwards outside. She also wanted her hair curly, so lastnight I put in 32 tiny sponge rollers! Boy was it curly this morning, but she loves it and it's a different look from her straight hair. Now we just have to get through the recital tonight! And if you notice her earrings in the photos she wanted them like that. One stud and one dangly skull earring!

The Look I Get

This is the look I get when my daughter wants to ride her bike a little bit longer! I sometimes take her to campus so she has more room and no cars around on the big sidewalks.

Poppies

Every year I try to take photos of my daughter amongst the poppies at my mom and dad's house. Tonight was the night. We've had so much rain here, but today it was clear. The poppies don't last long, so I had to get them while I had the chance. I just love the poppies!

Her Own Style

My daughter has her own style. How do you like the animal print hat with the army vest? Pretty cute, huh? Gotta love her.

Enjoying a gorgeous day!

My daughter enjoying a gorgeous day on my mom and dad's deck. I'm not sure what the raised eyebrows are about.

How did I get so lucky?

How did I get so lucky to have such a beautiful little girl? I'm so thankful to have this gorgeous child in my life. Sometimes I just sit and stare at her because I think she is so incredibly beautiful, and I can't believe I'm her mom. Thank you China for letting me adopt her!

Your Thoughts On Being Seven

So I asked my daughter what her thoughts were on being seven. Here's her answers:
That I can have a boyfriend; that I don't have to take a nap; that I have to do more math; I have more money; I dress better; I make my own bed; and that I am more responsible. I plan on asking her this each year around her birthday and however old she is will be how many thoughts she gives me! It will be fun to see how they differ from year to year.

Digital Layouts

Here's a few of my more recent digital layouts. The top one is my daughter and her best friend on Chinese New Year, the middle one is my daughter in her silk Chinese jacket, and the bottom one was taken of my daughter on campus. The flowers are just gorgeous in the spring. If her eyes look a little puffy in the photo above, it's because she had surgery on them March 16.

Anderson Hall

This is the building I work in on campus, Anderson Hall. I love this photo with the moon in the sky. These two photos were taken with my new Nikon D80, a birthday present to myself last November.

Happy Halloween

The top layout is of my daughter, Julia, photo taken before she went to school this morning. The cute little kitty cat is my friend's daughter, Hayley, and the cute little witch is Hayley's big sister, Anna. I kinda cheated on the layouts! Just switched the photos out!

The girls got lots of loot tonight, but it was soooo cold!

It's been months

WOW, what a bad blogger I am. It's been months since I've posted anything. I have been busy with my digital layouts though. Above are some for you to look at. The one right above with the gorgeous browns and blues are from jasbeanie's Kewl Beans Series, Fizzy Fusion Mix. The other layouts are done using Mindy Terasawa's Dreamy Afternoon kit, her Autumn Time kit, and her Whammy Oragami kit!

New layouts

WOW, have I been slipping on posting to my blog! Just wanted to add some new layouts here.
Both of these were done using Mindy Terasawa's Asian Flair kit available at Scrapbookgraphics.com. It is such a gorgeous kit. The second layout was a scraplift challenge and I picked Rachael's, (InLoveWithDOTS) layout to lift, I just loved it!

Smelling the Peonies

Haven't posted in a long time. Here's a couple of digital layouts I just did lastnight of my daughter smelling the Peonies. I just love these photos of her! In the layout with the 3 photos she was getting mad at me because she wanted to go inside and watch, "My name is Earl."

Neglect

Boy have I neglected my blog. Maybe I shouldn't have one. I was sick for a week in March and then went out to Vegas for a wedding the beginning of April. Man, is Las Vegas growing! I can't believe how much construction is going on there. Haven't been there since 9.11! Julia and her big brother, Eric, just love Las Vegas. I think Eric would like to live there. Julia said, "mom, it's beautiful here, no, it's wonderful." She loved all the cactus, and going to the M&M Factory, the wax museum, Target, and all the other things we did there. She bought a really cute beanie at Claire's Boutique. I'll have to post the photo later. That's all for now!

Nike Pink Shocks

My daughter was so excited when we went to Dillard's and the Nike Shocks were 75% off! Can you believe it? We got this pink pair for $14.95 regular price was $55. Can't beat that price. I ended up getting her two pairs. For this layout I used Manda Bean's and Robin Carlton's Isn't She Lovely kit, available at SweetShoppeDesigns, fonts are Melissa Baxter's Lipgloss and Barcode font. Frame made with cookie cutter tool.

Sand Painting by Tibetan Monks

This sand painting is just amazing. The Tibetan Monks are at the university I work at doing a sand painting. It's really incredible what they are doing. They use an instrument called a chak-purr and it lets a small amount of sand out and they guide it over a table that they have drawn the outline on. The top photo is my daughter with one of the monks. They are so nice and my daughter is quite sad that they will be leaving tomorrow. They have spent many, many hours on this painting and the closing ceremony is tomorrow.

Birthday scraplift

I did the above layout for a birthday scraplift on 2Peas website for Cindy Liebel. She did a gorgeous layout of her and her husband, called "I love this man."

Tonight I took my daughter, Julia, to see a sand painting being done by some Tibetan Monks. It is really quite something to see. I took some photos and will post them on here soon. They were also selling silk purses, CDs, rings, necklaces, t-shirts, all kinds of stuff. The proceeds go towards the monastery. So of course I bought some stuff. I'm going back tomorrow too. It takes them 2 1/2 days to finish the painting.
